Join thousands of runners and fans at this year's Transamerica Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in San Francisco, California. This rockin' San Francisco event features a 13.1-mile road race, a Health & Fitness Expo, a performance by MS MR, and entertainment from local bands along the course.
The Transamerica Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon San Francisco attracts thousands of running enthusiasts to the Golden Gate Bridge. This amazing road race takes runners on a tour of the Bay Area through several picturesque neighborhoods and scenic waterfront areas around the Marina District.
Runners and fans can celebrate the run with MS MR, the headliner for the Toyota Rock 'n' Roll Concert Series, waiting at the finish line. Along the way, local bands from all genres will be taking the stage along the course to rock out for the thousands of athletes and spectators at this year's event. The race starts at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday with the start line at Great Highway and Fulton Street, and the finish line at the Civic Center Plaza.
The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series takes place at numerous cities around the United States. It started in 1998 and the high energy of a festival and live entertainment have defined the experience. Runners participating in the event have raised more than $310 million for participating charities and event weekends include a Health & Fitness Expo for fitness enthusiasts.
The event includes a Spirit on the Course competition for cheer teams and dance squads who are willing to dress up and dance, motivate, and cheer participants along the course. The top three teams who prove they are the loudest and proudest can win cash prizes to raise money for their program; all participants will receive a stipend for their efforts.
